Spiritus Sanctus wine, ecclesiastical art, and centuries-old tradition
Throughout history, wine has been more than just a beverage – it has been part of both celebration and everyday life. In the European Christian tradition, wine has held a special significance, and for centuries monasteries and religious communities preserved and cultivated the art of viticulture.
In France in particular, vineyards and the knowledge of soil, climate, and growing conditions accumulated over generations helped lay the foundations for a unique wine culture. From France, this heritage spread throughout Europe, making wine an inseparable part of the continent’s gastronomy and cultural history.
Vellas Père & Fils’ Spiritus Sanctus wines carry forward and honour a centuries-old spiritual heritage. Inspired by European ecclesiastical art and the vibrant colours of stained glass, the imagery on the labels connects wine with history, art, and Christianity.
Spiritus Sanctus is a tribute to European wine culture – to a history that has left its mark on vineyards and cathedrals, and on traditions preserved and passed down through generations.
